Visiting the website
When you open a page, your browser transmits technically necessary data, in particular your IP address, the time, the requested address and the browser identifier. This data is processed only to deliver the page and to keep the service secure, and is not stored. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, functioning website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
The website and the platform that receives contact requests and registrations run on servers of netcup GmbH, Emmy-Noether-Straße 10, 76131 Karlsruhe, Germany. netcup processes the data on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR).
Storage on your device
We do not set cookies. If you choose an appearance yourself (light or dark, with or without lines), only that choice is stored in your browser’s local storage so that it persists on your next visit. No personal data is transmitted. This storage is strictly necessary for the function you requested (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete it at any time in your browser settings.
If you open the status page of your trial (the link in our email), the page removes the access key from the address bar and keeps it in your browser’s session storage for the duration of the session, so that it can still show the current status after a reload. It is deleted as soon as you close the tab. This storage is also strictly necessary for the function you requested (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).
Contact form and email
What data: your name, your email address, optionally your company, your message, the language of the page, the time of submission and your confirmation that you have read the privacy information. If you send us an email, we process your address and the content of the email.
Purpose: we answer your enquiry. The form is stored in our platform’s database; we are notified of new submissions by email.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR insofar as your enquiry concerns a contract, otherwise our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Retention: we delete the data once the enquiry has been dealt with and no statutory retention obligations apply, at the latest two years after we received the enquiry. If your enquiry leads to a contract, we keep it as part of the contract records for as long as statutory retention obligations apply.
Protection against abuse: the form contains a field that is invisible to humans and measures how long it takes to fill in. Submissions that are obviously automated are discarded. To limit mass submissions, your IP address is processed briefly when you submit the form, but is not stored with your enquiry. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a functioning service free of abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Receiving email: to receive mail at info@eunom.io we currently use the email forwarding of our domain registrar Namecheap, Inc., Phoenix, USA. This also applies to notifications about submitted forms. Data is transferred to the USA in the process. The transfer is based on appropriate safeguards under Art. 46 GDPR.
Trial
What data: your email address, your name, your company, the company’s country and sector, the language of the page, the time of registration and confirmation, and your declarations on the terms of use, the privacy information and, if given, marketing – each with the time and the version of the text. If you are on the waiting list, we also store your position.
Purpose: we set up a trial instance for you, send you your access details and a reminder one day before deletion, and manage the waiting list. Country and sector determine the sample data of your trial instance.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of the trial terms of use). Storing your declarations with time and version serves as proof that you agreed to the terms (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, for marketing consent, our obligation to demonstrate consent (Art. 7(1) GDPR).
Email confirmation (double opt-in): after registration we send you an email with a link. The trial instance is only set up once you open it. This ensures that nobody registers someone else’s address. We delete unconfirmed registrations after 48 hours.
Other people: if you invite other people to your trial instance, we process their name and email address to set up their access and invite them by email. Please inform these people about this privacy policy beforehand.
In the trial instance, sign-in (Keycloak) sets technically necessary cookies without which signing in is not possible (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). Please do not enter real company data or personal data of third parties into the trial instance.
Retention:
- The trial instance, with all content and accounts, is deleted after three days.
- Waiting list entries are deleted as soon as the reserved place has been taken up or has expired.
- We delete your registration data (name, email address, company) as soon as your trial instance has been deleted. What remains can no longer be linked to you.
- We keep the record of your declarations (time, version, email address) for as long as claims can be asserted on that basis, usually until the regular limitation period of three years has expired (Section 195 BGB).
Marketing emails
Only if you have expressly consented during registration will we occasionally send you news about eunom.io by email. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 7(2) no. 2 UWG). Consent is voluntary and not a condition for the trial. You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future, for example via the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to info@eunom.io. We then remove your address from the mailing list; we keep the record of your consent and its withdrawal as described above.
Sending emails
We send confirmation, access and reminder emails through our own mail server on our servers in Germany. If an external sending service is used, we will name it here.
Backups
We back up our databases every night, encrypted, to a server in Germany. Backups are used only to restore operations after a failure and are overwritten after six months at the latest. Until then, data we have already deleted may still be contained in older backups. If we restore a backup, we delete such data again.
Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR). Please write to info@eunom.io.
You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement (Art. 77 GDPR).
Providing your data is neither required by law nor by contract. Without the mandatory details, however, we cannot answer your enquiry or set up a trial.
There is no automated decision-making, including profiling.
